Description
Defensive Pistol 101 is our introductory course to using a pistol in anything more than a bench rest environment. This is a one-day class that covers basic gun safety and handling. Topics included are; drawing from a holster and engaging threats, reloads, and malfunction clearances. Lectures will include safety, mindset and basic legal concepts.
There are no prerequisites for this course but NRA Basic Pistol is always recommended for anyone who has had no formal pistol instruction.
Equipment list:
- Desire to learn.
- Pen/paper.
- Lunch.
- Defensive handgun .380 caliber or higher with strong side kydex holster. Sig P320 and its variants are currently not allowed in Defensive courses. All other Sig models are permitted.
- Dual Magazine carrier with 3-5 magazines (more makes for an easier training day).
- Ear and eye protection.
- 500 rounds of ammunition.
- Hat to deflect brass.
- Personal water supply.
- Sunscreen if outside.
- Individual first aid kit or blow-out kit (optional).
